How To Start Learning with VES

Welcome! We’d love to help you improve your English.

Vineyard English School (VES) offers free, friendly, conversational English classes in the heart of Croydon. Our classes are open to anyone living in Croydon—there are no eligibility requirements, and new students are always welcome!

What makes VES special?

🟡 FREE – All of our classes are completely free. They are a gift to the people of Croydon from Croydon Vineyard Church. Our amazing team of qualified teachers and volunteers give their time and expertise for free.

🟡 CONVERSATIONAL – Our focus is on speaking and listening. We teach useful, everyday English for life in the UK—like shopping, healthcare, travel, and making friends. VES is also about community. Many students make friends, find support, and grow in confidence.

🟡 CLASSES – We offer a range of classes for different levels, from beginners to more confident speakers. Our classes are relaxed but structured, and designed to help you feel encouraged and included.

When and where?

In-person classes:

🕥 Mondays & Thursdays, 10.30am–12pm
📍 Active Communities Hub, Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon High Street, CR0 1TY
(Look for the entrance opposite H&M, near Starbucks café.)
